Outdoor Recreation in 2008

Ski Louise
Special discounted rates for conference attendees are available on ski lift passes, equipment rental packages and group lessons. A Ski Louise representative will be on-site at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise on Saturday, March 15th and Sunday, March 16th, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Discounted rates will be in effect from Saturday, March 15th, to Saturday, March 22nd. GST is included in rates below.

Ski Equipment and Merchandise Discounts


Monod Sports

Ski equipment rental and merchandise discounts are also available at Monod Sports, which has an outlet off the main Chateau lobby beside the Bell Captain’s desk.

A 10% discount off regular rates will be taken off at the time of equipment rental, and a 5% discount off regularly priced merchandise is offered. Delegates must present a conference name badge for discounts. Discounts also apply at the Monod Sports Store on Banff Avenue.

The Great Cardiology Ski-Master Race

The Great Cardiology Ski-Master Race will be held again this year at ACC Lake Louise. Competition is usually fierce, so training is recommended!

Who should enter?
Skiers – from beginners to advanced – associated with ACC Lake Louise.

What about prizes?
There will be three prizes for each of the four categories:

  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced
  • Industry Representatives.

When is the race?

Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at 1:30 PM.

Where?
On the dual slalom course, front side of the Lake Louise Ski Area.

How do I race?
Contestants will race against another person on a dual slalom course. You can arrange to race with a friend, and winners will be determined by the fastest clocked time.

How many runs?
Two. Your best time of the two runs will be the time that counts.

How do I enter? What if I have questions?
Complete and submit the entry form at the Registration Desk during the conference. If you have any questions, folks at the registration desk at the Registration Desk can help you find answers.

Race results and prices?
Prizes will be presented March 19 at the Wednesday morning scientific session. Race results will also be posted on the ACC Lake Louise notice board.
